    Hello,

I’d like to simulate and test the SCRIBE application (http://www.freepastry.org/SCRIBE/default.htm) build on top of PASTRY with PeerfactSim.

As a novice in Java, does somebody know a source of SCRIBE already implemented in PeerfactSim?

If not, what would be the best way to start attaching it to the simulator?

    I am using PeerfactSim.KOM v4.0 (2011-05-06). Maybe it’s not the most up-to-date though.

    Best regards

P.S.: Thank you for that really helpful simulator!

    Hi,

please use the newest version of the simulator to be found here:
    https://peerfactsimkom-community.googlecode.com/archive/b0f93fe26f4da3dbe16c5ec7f6ce174e758ef06e.zip
This version is from today, so pretty new. Most of the changes were made in September and June 2013.
You find the newest versions always under http://www.peerfact.org

SCRIBE is not yet implemented but it should not be too difficult to implement on PASTRY. Pastry is already implemented, so make yourself first familiar with it. Run some simulations and be sure to know how to obtain your results.
As a step after that, you can have a look how PAST is implemented as replication module on top of PASTRY or how the file sharing application uses PASTRY.

    Good luck, its well doable

hank your for your quick answer and brand new Peerfactsim version.

I encounter a problem configuring it in Eclipse:
When I try to build it, nothing seems to happen. When I try to run it as a java application and select the GUIRunner then it says “Couldn’t find org.peerfact.GUIRunner”.

I followed all the steps in the youtube tutorial “Getting started”.

    Do you know a solution?

    Best regards
